Description
A drop fiber cable is a specialized fiber optic cable used to connect the main distribution network to end- users. It is designed for outdoor and indoor installations, providing a last-mile connection with high bandwidth and low signal loss.
Specializations:
- Fiber type: single-mode (G.653D, G.657A1/A2) or multi mode (OM2, OM3,OM4)
- Core count: Typically 1,2, or 4 fiber cores.
- Outer sheath material: LSZH(Low Smoke Zero Halogen),PVC, or PE (Polyethene) for outdoor durability.
- Strength members: Steel wire, FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), or aramid yarn or for mechanical protection.
- Cable diameter: generally 2.0mm to 5.0mm for flexibility and ease of installation.
- Tensile Strength: Designed to withstand pulling forces during installations
- Operating temperatures: -40° C to +70°C, depending on the sheath material.
- Bend Radius: Enhanced bend performance with G.657A fiber for tight spaces
